Camp Drake
What is Camp Drake? Believe it or not, it is the museum's summer camp! We focus on three areas: military, engineering, and aviation.
It is NOT an overnight camp. It is three half days starting the Wednesday of the week and going through Friday.
The first day is our military day. The cadets go through a mini-boot camp, Q&A session with veterans/active duty, eat an MRE, and more.
On the second day, they engineer an aircraft from recycled materials. They will also get to interact with aircraft engineers.
The last day is aviation day. The kids get to fly with a CFI (certified flight instructor) and log hours in a log book, which they can keep and apply to a pilot's license in the future.
The summer schedule changes based on other museum events. But the sessions are typically in June and July.
