What is the Arkansas Air and Military Museum?
Northwest Arkansas’s number one aviation and military museum, in the historic all-wood White Hangar at Drake Field in Fayetteville. Our museum tells the story of military service using original vehicles, aircraft, personal stories, and artifacts from around the world.

How much does it cost?
• Adults: $11
• Kids 6–16: $6
• Kids 5 and under: Free
• Seniors (65+), active/retired military: $10
• WWII, Atomic Era, and Korean War veterans: Free
• Members: Free
Group discounts are available. Special events (like Warbird Weekend) have different pricing. You do not need to buy tickets in advance for regular visits.
Are there any discounts?
Yes.
• Museums for All: $2.50 per person (up to 6 people) with a SNAP, EBT, or WIC card.
• Blue Star Museums: Free admission for active-duty military and up to five family members (with qualifying ID). These discounts do not apply to special events.
What will I see?
• More than 2,000 artifacts, from small personal items to full-size aircraft
• Planes spanning the golden age of aviation through the jet age (including Vietnam-era helicopters, a C-130 Hercules, racing planes, trainers, and more)
• Military vehicles such as Jeeps, ambulances, cargo trucks, and an armored scout car
• Two rotating exhibits: one deep-dive topic in the lobby and a personal veteran biography that changes approximately every six months
• The historic 1940s wooden hangar itself: one of the oldest surviving aviation structures in Northwest Arkansas

Visitors can climb inside and explore three different aircraft. Some exhibits even include take-home activities for kids.
Is it good for families?
Yes. Kids under 6 are free, there are climb-in planes, and the museum is interactive without feeling overwhelming. Special programs (homeschool days, Ride Along Saturdays, seasonal camps) add extra value.
Is it accessible?
All buildings are wheelchair-accessible via ramps. There are two handicap parking spots and two loaner wheelchairs available. The museum also has exhibits designed for visually impaired visitors. Staff are CPR and AED certified.
How long should I plan to stay?
Most visitors spend 1–2 hours. If you come during a special event or take a guided aircraft tour, plan for longer.
Do I need to buy tickets ahead of time?
No, not for regular days. Just walk in. For large groups (12+) or special events, you can usually buy tickets ahead of time.
Is parking free?
Yes, and there is designated handicap parking right at the front.
What’s the best time to visit?
Weekday mornings are usually quieter. Check the calendar for special events like Warbird Weekends, Ride Along Saturdays (third Saturday of the month), free mornings, and other programs that can make the visit even more memorable.
Anything I should know before I go?
The C-130 is typically closed December through March due to winter weather. Call ahead if you specifically want to tour it. The museum is located at an active small airfield, so you may see planes coming and going.
